Swiss aerospace startup that planned air-launched small satellite deployments and suborbital spaceflights
Swiss Space Systems (S3) was a Payerne-based aerospace company founded in 2012 by Pascal Jaussi that planned to deploy small satellites of up to 250 kg into sun-synchronous low Earth orbit using a suborbital spaceplane air-launched from an Airbus A300 carrier aircraft. The company also planned to offer parabolic weightlessness flights and crewed sub-orbital spaceflights. S3 established subsidiaries in the United States and Spain before being declared bankrupt in December 2016.
