Founded in 2013 and headquartered in Rennes, France, Cailabs designs and manufactures photonic solutions using its proprietary Multi-Plane Light Conversion (MPLC) technology. The company produces optical ground stations that enable laser communications with satellites, incorporating atmospheric turbulence compensation technology. It also serves telecommunications, defense, and industrial sectors with beam-shaping and data transmission products. In September 2025, Cailabs raised €57 million, including €37 million from the European Investment Bank, to scale up production of optical ground stations.
