Hughes Network Systems, a subsidiary of EchoStar, sells satellite internet access and broadband equipment while operating managed networks for a wide range of customers including enterprises, governments, mobile network operators, in-flight service providers, and military clients. Its HughesNet service delivers consumer satellite internet across the Americas. The JUPITER System, a high-throughput satellite platform, underpins internet access for operators worldwide, and Hughes supplies a majority of the global satellite terminal market. For enterprise customers, the HughesON portfolio covers both wired and wireless managed network solutions. EchoStar acquired Hughes Communications in February 2011, folding it into the broader EchoStar structure. In 2025, Hughes acquired Anderson Connectivity, an aerospace design and manufacturing firm based in Melbourne, Florida, to expand its aviation, space, and defense capabilities. The company is headquartered in Germantown, Maryland.
