Independence-X Aerospace
Malaysian launch company developing small satellite vehicles and re-entry capsules from an equatorial site
Independence-X Aerospace, known as IDXA, is a Malaysian NewSpace transportation company founded in 2013 by Izmir Yamin, who serves as CEO and CTO. Based in Seremban, the company develops its own hardware across the full stack: the Dedicated Nano Launch Vehicle (DNLV) for small, pico, and nano-class satellites; the Microgravity Experiment Re-entry Capsule (MERCAP) for payload return; cryogenic rocket engines; and Hall-effect thrusters. The DNLV is designed to take advantage of Malaysia's equatorial location, which offers a natural orbital insertion benefit for low-inclination missions. Work on propulsion technology traces back to a special interest group active since 2003, where early research produced a liquid propellant feeding system claimed to cut the mass and power consumption of conventional designs by half.
