IonQ

IonQ is a publicly traded quantum computing and networking company headquartered in College Park, Maryland. Founded in 2015 to commercialize trapped-ion research from the University of Maryland and Duke University, the company sells access to its quantum systems through major cloud platforms and is building out quantum-safe networking. Its acquisition of synthetic-aperture-radar satellite operator Capella Space brought a spacecraft fleet and ground infrastructure in-house, anchoring IonQ's plan for a space-based quantum key distribution network.
