Orbitworks
Manufactures and integrates modular satellites up to 500 kg from Abu Dhabi, offering physical, virtual, and on-demand space missions for government and commercial customers
Orbitworks is a UAE-based satellite manufacturing and integration company established in 2024 as a joint venture between Abu Dhabi-based Marlan Space and San Francisco-based Loft Orbital. Operating from a facility in KEZAD (Khalifa Economic Zone Abu Dhabi), the company assembles, integrates, and tests satellites up to 500 kg with an annual production capacity of 50 units. Orbitworks offers three service models: physical missions using flight-proven platforms for constellation deployment, virtual missions allowing customers to deploy software on orbiting spacecraft, and on-demand access to sensing, compute, and connectivity resources from its in-orbit fleet. The flagship program is Altair, a 10-satellite AI-enabled Earth observation constellation featuring sub-meter optical, SWIR, thermal infrared, hyperspectral, and RF sensors with onboard edge computing. The Altair satellites are built on Loft Orbital's Longbow platform, an ESA-funded upgrade of the Airbus Arrow 150. Orbitworks is backed by the Royal Group of Abu Dhabi and International Holding Company (IHC).
