Develops a partially reusable methane-fueled mini-launcher for small satellite delivery to low Earth and sun-synchronous orbits
Develops small-lift methane-fueled launch vehicles and manufactures liquid propulsion systems, composite tanks, and satellite thrusters
Perigee Aerospace is a South Korean launch vehicle developer and propulsion systems manufacturer headquartered in Daejeon. Founded in 2018 with roots in sounding rocket research at KAIST, the company designs, builds, and tests methalox engines and launch vehicles in-house. Its primary vehicle is the Blue Whale 1, a two-stage small-lift rocket capable of delivering up to 200 kg to a 500 km sun-synchronous orbit. Perigee also manufactures propulsion components including cold gas CubeSat thrusters, cryogenic composite propellant tanks, and electroformed thrust chambers, and has secured launch site agreements at Sweden's Esrange Space Center and Australia's Whalers Way Orbital Launch Complex.
