PERSEI Space
Propellant-free electrodynamic tether systems for deorbiting, reboost, and in-orbit servicing
Persei Space, founded in 2023 and based in Leganés, Madrid, develops electrodynamic tether (EDT) technology for propellant-free in-space propulsion, targeting space deorbiting, on-orbit servicing, active debris removal, and scientific missions. The company spun out of two European Innovation Council-funded projects (E.T.PACK and E.T.PACK-F) led by a consortium including Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, TU Dresden, University of Padua, and SENER Aeroespacial. Persei holds an exclusive license from UC3M for five core technologies, including BETsMA v2.0, a mission analysis software for electrodynamic tether systems, and has received support from ESA BIC Madrid Region.
