Polaris Spaceplanes, founded in 2019 and headquartered in Bremen, Germany, develops reusable horizontal-takeoff spaceplanes and hypersonic vehicles combining aircraft and rocket-launcher technologies. Its product portfolio includes the Aurora spaceplane, the VEGA hypersonic testbed and small-satellite launcher, and in-house linear aerospike engines. The company has logged over 250 test flights of its vehicle fleet and received a contract from Germany's BAAINBw to build and flight-test a reusable hypersonic vehicle. Polaris has also signed a cooperation agreement with Diehl Defence and operates a second site at Peenemünde Airport.
