Polaris Spaceplanes, founded in 2019 and headquartered in Bremen, Germany, develops reusable horizontal-takeoff spaceplanes and hypersonic vehicles combining aircraft and rocket-launcher technologies. Its product portfolio includes the Aurora spaceplane, the VEGA hypersonic testbed and small-satellite launcher, and in-house linear aerospike engines. The company has logged over 250 test flights of its vehicle fleet and received a contract from Germany's BAAINBw to build and flight-test a reusable hypersonic vehicle. Polaris has also signed a cooperation agreement with Diehl Defence and operates a second site at Peenemünde Airport.

Aerospike Engines
At POLARIS, we are developing cutting-edge rocket engines for our spaceplanes – designed for hypersonic and orbital missions. The core of this effort are our innovative linear aerospike engines, that we are fully developing and qualifying in-house.
Future Heavy Spaceplane
Our horizontal take-off spaceplanes operate from airports and no longer need complex launch infrastructures. Thanks to aircraft-like operation and reusability for hundreds of missions, our spaceplanes will fundamentally disrupt the economics of spaceflight.
Hypersonic Platform VEGA
The two-stage fully reusable spaceplane VEGA will serve as hypersonic testbed and experimental platform. In a secondary function, the vehicle can be used as small-satellite launcher when using an expendable upper-stage.
Light Spaceplane Aurora
The spaceplane Aurora combines aircraft and rocket launcher technologies within a unique design. Aurora offers a game-changing economic viability and opens the door for routine low-cost and safe access to space.
Tactical Aircraft
We are leveraging our spaceplane technology to derive unique defense products. Thus, we are providing unmatched capabilities for protecting the democratic world in a time of growing global insecurity.
Tanker and Aerial Refueling Systems
Our spaceplanes will be equipped with optional aerial refueling capabilities. This fundamentally changes the operational capabilities of spaceplanes and hypersonic aircraft. In parallel to our spaceplane development, we develop uncrewed tankers to refuel our spaceplanes as well as other aircraft in the air.
