Planned European space joint venture merging Airbus, Leonardo, and Thales space divisions into a single entity
Project Bromo is the working name for a planned joint venture being formed by Airbus, Leonardo, and Thales through a memorandum of understanding signed in 2025. The new company would combine Airbus Defence and Space's space businesses, Leonardo's Space Division, and Thales's stakes in Thales Alenia Space, Telespazio, and Thales SESO. Based on 2024 figures, the combined entity would employ approximately 25,000 people and generate an estimated annual turnover of €6.5 billion, with an official launch targeted for 2027, subject to regulatory approvals.
