Quantum Qool is an Omaha, Nebraska-based startup founded in 2022 that has developed a patented Ultrafast Laser Surface Structuring (ULSS) process, which modifies the surfaces of materials such as copper, aluminum, silicon carbide, and graphite to increase cooling efficiency and emissivity. The technology targets thermal management challenges in components including spacecraft radiators, GPU heat sinks, and battery current collectors. The company was selected for the ISS National Laboratory's inaugural Orbital Edge Accelerator program in 2025 and participated in the Amazon Devices Climate Tech Accelerator.
