Rocket Lab's private orbital launch site on New Zealand's Māhia Peninsula for Electron small satellite missions
Rocket Lab Launch Complex 1 (also known as Māhia Launch Complex) is a commercial spaceport located near Ahuriri Point at the southern tip of the Māhia Peninsula on New Zealand's North Island, owned and operated by Rocket Lab. The facility officially opened on 26 September 2016 and became the first private spaceport to host a successful orbital launch with the Electron rocket on 21 January 2018. It features two launch pads, a vehicle integration facility, satellite cleanrooms, and private range control facilities, and can support up to 120 launch opportunities per year across orbital inclinations from sun-synchronous to 30 degrees.
