Sofant Technologies

Sofant Technologies, founded in 2011 as a University of Edinburgh spinout, develops low-power satellite communication terminals using patented RF MEMS (radio frequency microelectromechanical systems) technology. The company's approach addresses power consumption and heat dissipation challenges in phased array antenna systems, eliminating the need for complex cooling hardware. Sofant has received support from the European Space Agency and the UK Space Agency, and closed a £6.25 million equity funding round led by EMV Capital Partners.
