Solestial, founded in 2013 and based in Tempe, Arizona, develops and manufactures ultrathin, radiation-hardened silicon solar cells and flexible power modules for space applications. Its proprietary silicon photovoltaic technology is designed to self-cure radiation damage and is positioned as a lower-cost alternative to III-V multijunction solar products. The company raised $28.34M in total funding and was acquired by York Space Systems in June 2026.
