Surrey Satellite Technology

Surrey Satellite Technology Limited (SSTL) designs, builds, and operates small satellites from its facility at Surrey Research Park in Guildford, where it has been based since incorporation in 1985. The company handles full mission development in-house, covering satellite platforms, remote sensing and communications payloads, avionics subsystems, and ground infrastructure. Its work spans Earth observation, GNSS-R navigation, and lunar missions, with customers in scientific research, space exploration, and education. SSTL is part of the Airbus Group and has produced more than 70 satellites over four decades. Sir Martin Sweeting, a director since 1991, has been a long-standing figure in the company's development.
