Develops network orchestration software and laser communication terminals that unify satellite, airborne, maritime, and ground networks into a single managed system

About

Aalyria develops two core technologies originally created at Alphabet over more than a decade of research. Spacetime is a temporospatial software-defined networking platform that orchestrates networks in motion across land, sea, air, and space. It maintains a planetary-scale digital twin of moving assets and uses AI to optimize wireless topologies in real time, autonomously rerouting data around weather disruptions and orbital mechanics. Tightbeam is a free-space optical communication terminal capable of delivering 100 Gbps laser links over distances exceeding 100 kilometers of atmosphere, with six generations of terminal development rooted in national laboratory research. Together, these products enable commercial satellite operators, telecommunications companies, and defense agencies to unify disparate constellations, aircraft, and ground stations into a single intelligent network. Aalyria holds contracts with the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory, NASA, the Defense Innovation Unit, and the European Space Agency, and provides network orchestration for commercial operators including Telesat Lightspeed and Rivada Space Networks. The company spun out of Google in September 2022 and is headquartered in Livermore, California.
