Designs, manufactures, and integrates nanosatellites and small satellite subsystems, with constellation operations and advanced mission capabilities for defense, civil, and commercial customers
Designs and manufactures electric propulsion systems for spacecraft, including Hall effect, electrospray, RF ion, and green monopropellant thrusters
Busek Co. Inc. is an American spacecraft propulsion company founded in 1985 by Dr. Vlad Hruby. The company specializes in electric propulsion systems for military, government, and commercial satellites, with expertise spanning five propulsion technologies: Hall effect, electrospray, radio frequency ion, pulsed plasma, and green monopropellant thrusters. Products range from compact cubesat propulsion modules to multi-kilowatt systems for large geostationary satellites. Busek flew the first U.S. Hall thruster in space aboard AFRL TacSat-2 in 2006 and delivered the first flight-qualified electrospray thrusters for ESA/NASA LISA Pathfinder in 2015. The company produces BHT-series Hall thrusters at power levels from 100W to 20kW, BET-MAX electrospray systems for ultra-precision pointing, and BIT-3 iodine-fueled RF ion thrusters for deep-space CubeSat missions. Busek is providing BHT-6000 Hall thrusters for NASA's Lunar Gateway Power and Propulsion Element under the Artemis program. The company also scaled thruster production for OneWeb's broadband constellation. Busek is AS9100 and ISO 9001 certified, with all products manufactured and assembled in the United States.
