ABOUT

Honeybee Robotics, LLC is a Longmont, Colorado-based subsidiary of Blue Origin that designs and manufactures advanced robotic systems, mechanisms, and actuation systems for space exploration and extreme environments. Founded in 1983 by Steve Gorevan and Chris Chapman, the company received its first NASA contract in 1986 and has since developed planetary drills, robotic arms, sample acquisition tools, motors, and actuators for customers including NASA and JAXA. Acquired by Blue Origin in 2022, Honeybee Robotics is also part of the Blue Origin-led team awarded a $3.4 billion NASA Artemis moon lander contract in May 2023. The company employs approximately 284 people across facilities in Longmont, Colorado, Altadena, California, and Greenbelt, Maryland.
