Planetary Resources, founded in 2009 and headquartered in Redmond, Washington, was an asteroid mining company that developed and deployed technologies for robotic exploration and resource extraction from asteroids. Co-founded by Peter Diamandis and Eric Anderson, the company raised approximately $49–50 million in total funding and had backers including Google's Larry Page and Eric Schmidt and filmmaker James Cameron. The company was acquired by ConsenSys in 2020 and has since ceased independent operations.
