PLD Space
Develops reusable launch vehicles for dedicated and rideshare small satellite missions, with in-house liquid propulsion and vertically integrated manufacturing
About
PLD Space is a Spanish aerospace company that designs, manufactures, and operates reusable launch vehicles for small satellite missions. Founded in 2011 in Elche, the company achieved Europe's first private rocket launch with its MIURA 1 suborbital vehicle in 2023. Its primary program is MIURA 5, a two-stage kerosene/LOX orbital launcher powered by proprietary TEPREL-C engines, targeting dedicated and rideshare missions to LEO, SSO, and GEO orbits with a planned cadence of 30 launches per year from spaceports including the Guiana Space Centre and a second site in Oman. The company develops its propulsion systems entirely in-house from its vertically integrated production facility in Elche. Future programs include MIURA Next, a medium-lift reusable vehicle, and LINCE, a crewed capsule.
