About
SES S.A. is a satellite telecommunications operator headquartered in Betzdorf, Luxembourg. Founded in 1985 as Societe Europeenne des Satellites, the company operates a multi-orbit fleet of approximately 120 satellites in geostationary orbit and medium Earth orbit, delivering video distribution, broadband data connectivity, and managed network services across six continents.
SES serves broadcasters, mobile network operators, internet service providers, airlines, maritime operators, and government agencies. Its GEO fleet provides wide-area video broadcasting and fixed connectivity, while the O3b and O3b mPOWER MEO constellations deliver high-throughput, low-latency data services. The company completed its acquisition of Intelsat in July 2025, combining the two fleets into one of the largest commercial satellite operations globally.
SES operates through vertical market segments including media, telecommunications, aviation, maritime, and government. The company also operates GovSat, a joint venture with the Luxembourg government providing secure military satellite communications. Listed on Euronext Paris and the Luxembourg Stock Exchange under the ticker SESG, SES reported annual revenue of approximately €2 billion in 2024.
