Space Machines Company
Builds rapid-response orbital servicing vehicles for close-proximity inspection, monitoring, and protection of space assets across all Earth orbits
Space Machines Company develops orbital servicing vehicles and space domain awareness systems from its headquarters in Sydney, Australia. Founded in 2019, the company provides close-proximity inspection, monitoring, and protection services for satellites across all Earth orbits through its Orbitside Assist capability. Its primary platform, Optimus Viper, is a mass-produced rapid-response vehicle with 600 m/s delta-v capability, designed to operate from low Earth orbit to geostationary orbit, powered by the Scintilla propulsion engine, a 3D-printed 50-Newton thruster developed in-house.
The company also builds SolsticeOS, an AI-driven command and control platform that coordinates distributed spacecraft for autonomous threat detection and response. Space Machines Company operates across defence and commercial markets, with offices in Adelaide, Bengaluru, and Washington DC. It holds a $3 million ASCA defence contract for the STARS threat detection system and is building the Optimus Factory at UTS Tech Lab in Sydney.
