Kongsberg Satellite Services
Provides satellite ground station services, maritime surveillance, and Earth observation data through a global network of polar and mid-latitude antennas
Kongsberg Satellite Services operates an interconnected global ground station network of over 210 antennas across 29 locations. The infrastructure includes polar hubs at Svalbard and Tromsoe in Norway and TrollSat in Antarctica, with mid-latitude sites worldwide, enabling data acquisition from every polar orbit pass across S, X, Ka, and Ku bands.
Services are delivered through specialized platforms: KSATlite for small satellite constellations, KSAT Global for mission-critical operations, and KSAT Lunar for cislunar missions. The company also provides maritime surveillance services for vessel tracking, oil spill detection, and sea ice monitoring. It serves NASA, ESA, NOAA, and commercial operators including SpaceX and Planet, with AWS Ground Station integration for cloud-based data processing. Founded in 2002, the company is a joint venture between Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace and Space Norway.
