Operates a constellation of formation-flying satellites that detect, geolocate, and characterize radio frequency emissions for defense and intelligence missions

ABOUT

HawkEye 360 operates a proprietary constellation of thirty formation-flying small satellites in low Earth orbit that detect, geolocate, and characterize radio frequency emissions across a broad spectrum. The satellites fly in clusters of three at approximately 500 km altitude, using time-difference and frequency-difference of arrival techniques to pinpoint RF emitters worldwide.

The company delivers signals intelligence products across five mission areas: spectrum monitoring with taskable I/Q data collection, maritime intelligence for dark vessel detection and tracking, air defense radar monitoring, GNSS interference detection for jamming and spoofing threats, and communications mapping for push-to-talk and satellite phone geolocation. AI-powered analytics process collected data to identify patterns, anomalies, and emitter characteristics.

HawkEye 360 primarily serves U.S. defense and intelligence agencies, including the NRO and U.S. Navy, as well as allied international partners. The company acquired Innovative Signal Analysis in December 2025 to expand its signal processing capabilities. Founded in 2015 and headquartered in Herndon, Virginia, HawkEye 360 launched its pathfinder cluster in 2018 and has since grown to 13 operational clusters.
