About

Planet Labs PBC designs, manufactures, and operates the largest commercial fleet of Earth observation satellites, delivering daily global imagery and geospatial analytics. The constellation includes over 200 SuperDove spacecraft capturing 8-band multispectral imagery at 3-meter resolution and SkySat satellites providing 50-centimeter high-resolution tasking. Planet is deploying next-generation Pelican and Owl constellations for higher resolution and enhanced monitoring.

In 2024, Planet expanded into hyperspectral imaging with the Tanager satellite for methane and CO2 emission detection. The company delivers data through its Planet Insights Platform, a cloud-native system serving agriculture, defense, sustainability, insurance, maritime, and mapping sectors. Planet holds contracts with the NRO, NGA, and NASA, and signed a $230 million satellite manufacturing agreement with SKY Perfect JSAT. Founded in 2010, the company trades on the NYSE under ticker PL and is headquartered in San Francisco.
