Kepler Communications

Kepler Communications designs, manufactures, and operates a constellation of small satellites that form a space-based data relay network. Founded in 2015 and headquartered in Toronto, the company provides real-time connectivity to spacecraft in low Earth orbit and beyond through a hybrid architecture combining optical inter-satellite links and Ku/Ka-band radio frequency communications.

The company offers three core services: Kepler Connect for optical data relay, Kepler Compute for on-orbit edge computing and data processing, and hosted payload services that allow customers to deploy instruments aboard Kepler satellites. Its network supports earth observation operators facing downlink bottlenecks, defense and intelligence agencies requiring secure real-time data access, human spaceflight missions needing persistent broadband, and space sustainability operators performing debris removal and on-orbit servicing.

Kepler is vertically integrated, managing satellite design, in-house production, and constellation operations from its Toronto facility. The company has 23 satellites with flight heritage, launched its first tranche of optical relay satellites in January 2026, and has raised over $200 million in funding.
