Key Facts
Description
LandSpace designs and operates the Zhuque-2 and Zhuque-3 liquid oxygen-methane launch vehicles from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center. The Zhuque-2, powered by the TQ-12 engine, became the first methane-fueled rocket to reach orbit in July 2023. The company is advancing the Zhuque-3, a stainless steel reusable vehicle with a first stage powered by nine TQ-12A engines, targeting orbital booster recovery in mid-2026 and first flight of a reused booster by year-end. LandSpace manufactures the TQ series engines in-house at its Huzhou facility, which includes production and hot-fire testing capabilities. The company operates integrated facilities in Beijing (headquarters and R&D), Xi'an (propulsion systems research), Shanghai (structural development), and Jiaxing (rocket assembly and integration).
LandSpace provides launch services for China's national satellite internet constellations, including China SatNet (Guowang) and Qianfan, as well as commercial operators. The company is vertically integrated, managing the full lifecycle from engine manufacturing through launch operations. As a privately held entity, LandSpace completed the regulatory tutoring process required for listing on the Shanghai STAR Market and is preparing to go public in 2026 to fund its transition to high-cadence, mass-produced reusable launch operations.
