Develops and operates solid-propellant orbital launch vehicles and liquid-fueled reusable rockets for commercial satellite constellation deployment

ABOUT

Galactic Energy develops and operates orbital launch vehicles from its headquarters in Beijing, with manufacturing facilities in Huzhou and Ningbo. The company currently flies the Ceres-1, a four-stage solid-propellant rocket that delivers 400 kg to low Earth orbit and 300 kg to 500 km sun-synchronous orbit. Ceres-1 supports both land-based launches from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center and sea-based launches from converted barges, serving commercial clients deploying remote sensing, telecommunications, and IoT satellite constellations. The upgraded Ceres-2, with a 3.35-meter diameter and capacity of 1,600 kg to LEO, conducted its debut flight in January 2026.

The company is developing the Pallas-1, a medium-lift liquid-fueled rocket powered by the Welkin kerosene-LOX engine with pintle injector technology enabling deep throttling for vertical landing recovery and reusability of up to 50 flights. A heavier Pallas-2 variant powered by the CQ-90 engine is planned for larger constellation deployments. Founded in 2018 by Liu Baiqi and Xia Dongkun, Galactic Energy has raised over $714 million through Series D funding at a $1.5 billion valuation and has initiated a China IPO process.
