Develops a partially reusable methane-fueled mini-launcher for small satellite delivery to low Earth and sun-synchronous orbits
Operates the Kuaizhou family of solid-fueled small-lift launch vehicles for commercial and government satellite delivery to low Earth orbit
ExPace Technology Corporation is the commercial launch division of China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation (CASIC), China's largest missile systems manufacturer. Founded in 2016 and headquartered at the Wuhan National Space Industry Base, ExPace develops and operates the Kuaizhou family of solid-fueled launch vehicles for commercial and government satellite missions.
The company's primary vehicles are the Kuaizhou-1A, a small-lift rocket capable of delivering 300 kg to low Earth orbit, and the Kuaizhou-11, which carries up to 1,500 kg to LEO. Both vehicles launch from road-mobile transporter-erector-launchers, enabling rapid-response deployment from multiple Chinese spaceports including Jiuquan and Xichang. ExPace charges approximately $10,000 per kilogram and has completed dozens of orbital missions since 2017. The company operates China's first commercial aerospace industrial park in Wuhan, with annual production capacity of 20 to 50 rockets. ExPace is also developing liquid-propellant rocket engines using methane-liquid oxygen technology for future vehicles.
