Astroscale
Designs and operates spacecraft for on-orbit servicing, including debris removal, satellite life extension, and refueling across LEO and GEO
Develops on-orbit refueling infrastructure and operates fuel depots, shuttles, and standardized docking interfaces for satellite propellant delivery in Earth orbit
Orbit Fab builds and operates on-orbit refueling infrastructure designed to establish a propellant supply chain in Earth orbit. The company's primary product is RAFTI (Rapidly Attachable Fluid Transfer Interface), a standardized cooperative docking and refueling port that replaces existing fill-and-drain valves on spacecraft. RAFTI is flight-qualified at TRL 8, accepted by the U.S. Space Force as a refueling interface for military satellites, and adopted by over 100 commercial spacecraft programs. The company's active docking counterpart, GRIP, completed flight qualification in 2025.
Orbit Fab's refueling service architecture consists of orbital fuel depots for propellant storage and reusable fuel shuttles that deliver hydrazine, xenon, high-test peroxide, and other storable propellants to client spacecraft. The company's UMPIRE mission planning software optimizes refueling logistics and timing for each customer's operations. Headquartered in Lafayette, Colorado with a UK office at Harwell Campus, Orbit Fab holds contracts with the U.S. Space Force, the Defense Innovation Unit, and the European Space Agency, alongside commercial partnerships with satellite servicing operators including Astroscale and ClearSpace.
