ResearchSat is an Australian space-biotech company that designs, builds, and operates satellite platforms for conducting life sciences and pharmaceutical research in microgravity. Founded in 2017 and headquartered in Adelaide, the company provides turnkey research contracting services, developing bespoke payloads, managing launch logistics, and delivering experiment results to university and industry clients. The company's core technology centers on lab-on-a-chip and microfluidic experiment hardware in CubeSat form factors, enabling controlled experiments in microbiology, pharmaceuticals, nanomaterials, and regenerative medicine. ResearchSat has completed suborbital rocket launches from Sweden and is developing an ISS payload program. In 2023 the company acquired Up&Up Space, an Adelaide-based high-altitude balloon launch provider, to bring near-space testing capabilities in-house. ResearchSat maintains operations across Australia, India, the United States, and France.
