Satellite Vu
Operates high-resolution thermal infrared imaging satellites that capture heat signatures at 3.5-meter resolution, day and night, from low Earth orbit
About
Satellite Vu (trading as SatVu) builds and operates thermal infrared imaging satellites that capture heat variations across the Earth's surface at up to 3.5-meter resolution, both day and night. Founded in 2016 and headquartered in London, the company launched its first satellite HotSat-1 in June 2023, with HotSat-2 and HotSat-3 contracted for launch as it builds toward a nine-satellite constellation. SatVu's mid-wave infrared sensors detect activity inside structures and through smoke, providing thermal video up to 60 seconds long. The data serves national security and defense intelligence, economic monitoring of energy infrastructure and industrial assets, and climate resilience including urban heat mapping.
