Pixxel designs, manufactures, and operates a constellation of hyperspectral Earth observation microsatellites capable of imaging across 250+ spectral bands in the visible, near-infrared, and short-wave infrared ranges at 5-meter spatial resolution. The company's Firefly constellation, with six satellites in orbit as of early 2025, provides 24-hour revisit capability and 40-kilometer swath width for global coverage.

Pixxel also develops Aurora, a cloud-native Earth observation studio that processes raw satellite data into analytical products for agriculture, energy, environment, forestry, mining, and government applications. The platform offers pre-built AI/ML models, spectral indices, and automated workflows accessible through a no-code interface. Founded in 2019, the company has partnerships with the US National Reconnaissance Office and India's IN-SPACe agency, and operates from offices in El Segundo, California and Bengaluru, India.
