The company provides satellite phones (GSP-1700, GSP-1600), commercial IoT asset tracking devices (SmartOne, Integrity 150, STX3), and the SPOT line of personal GPS messengers with emergency SOS capability. Its Realm Enablement Suite offers an edge computing platform for developing AI-enabled IoT applications with satellite backhaul.
Globalstar holds licensed Band n53 spectrum and markets XCOM RAN, a private 5G network solution for carriers, cable companies, and enterprises. Apple is a significant strategic partner and 20% equity owner, with Globalstar providing the satellite infrastructure for iPhone emergency SOS services. The company was originally founded as a joint venture between Loral Corporation and Qualcomm and went through bankruptcy reorganization in 2002 before relisting. Globalstar trades on NASDAQ under the ticker GSAT and is headquartered in Covington, Louisiana.
